A tour in the region of wine and truffles with portrait and glamour photography classes in beautiful ancient villas.
The French Piedmont, the Italian Piemonte, and other variant cognates come from the medieval Latin Pedemontium or Pedemontis, i.e. ad pedem montium, meaning “at the foot of the mountains”, referring to the Alps.
As the name says, the region is surrounded by the alps and extends to the Po Valley with fertile hills.
Famous in the world for the production of great wines like the Barolo and Truffles, Piemonte is more than that: great food, beautiful landscapes, ancient castles and villas and a tranquil environment.
We will stay in a 4 stars hotel the center of Cuneo, the capital of south Piemonte, where you can enjoy the lifestyle of a province town and, on Tuesday, the experience of the largest open market in Italy.
We will do short travels to see the small Alps villages, the Langa region with wine tasting and visit some antique villas to take pictures with models.
In all our workshops partners are welcome. If you are a partner you can enjoy free time for relax, shopping and simply enjoy the Italian life. All the workshops are organized in 4 stars hotel with plenty of room space and activities.
This workshop is concentrated on life enjoyment. You will learn how to live a relaxed live and transfer the joy of life in your images. Landscapes, street photography, portraits and glamour.
Cuneo, our base for the workshop, is the perfect city to experience the everyday life of the Italian province.
Every day we will have a short class with a review of the day before assignment and we will visit different towns, countryside and locations at the right moment to create the perfect picture.
The goal of the workshop is to teach how to insert the joy of life in your images.
Day 1 – Turin and Cuneo
Meet in the morning Turin Airpot (TRN)
Spend some time Turin around lunch time
Arrive in the afternoon at our hotel in Cuneo
Time to unpack and relax before dinner
Day 2 – Open Market in Cuneo
After the opening morning class we will spend the day in Cuneo to visit and photograph the open market. A tradition going on for centuries and full of photo opportunities.
Lunch on your own.
In the late afternoon we will explore the city of Cuneo for the sunset experience.
Dinner back at the hotel all together.
Day 3 – Glamour in the villa
We will spend most of the day in a beautiful ancient villa to explore portraits and glamour photography with a couple of models.
Quick lunch catered at the villa and back to Cuneo and the hotel for relax time and dinner.
Day 4 – Langhe, the Barolo wine homeland
After the morning class we will leave for Alba where we will visit the city and have lunch. In the afternoon we will explore the beautiful hills of the langhe region waiting the sunset for the perfect picture.
We will be back at the hotel for dinner and relax.
Day 5 – Alps
After the morning class we will leave toward the Alps, visit small mountain villages and enjoy the landscapes.

After the sunset we will be back to the hotel for dinner and relax time.
Day 6 – Saluzzo and sunset portraits
After the morning class we will leave for Saluzzo, a little gem hidden in the South Piemonte.
Lunch on your own in Saluzzo.
In the afternoon we will visit another historical villa where we will have a glamour and portrait session. After sunset, we will be back to the hotel for dinner relax and packing.
Day 7 – Wrap up
Wrap up class and back to Turin Airport.
Skill level
All skill level are welcome. You are required to have a basic idea of the use of the camera and knowledge of basic postproduction. The workshop will focus mostly on the visualization aspect but there will be plenty of time for one on one consultancy if you need to talk about the use of the camera or postproduction.
What to expect
Every day you will have an assignment. The morning after we will review the images created the day before and have a talk about the new assignment.
During the tours and the free time the instructors will be available to answer all your questions and tech specific arguments to fit your needs.

Payment Schedule
- A reservation fee of $500/person will hold your spot
- The balance of payment is due 120 days prior to your workshop/tour
Hotel Rooms
We use hotels rated 4 stars, always with private bath. Rooms are assigned in order of reservations received, so early signup is recommended.
Single Private Room Supplements
Fees are based on double occupancy. Single supplement may be added for individual participants who wish to have a private room to themselves. Supplements are specified in the “dates & price” section. If you are traveling alone and wish to share a room with another participant, please let us know and we’ll do our best to match you with a roommate.
Cancellation fee schedule
- Reservation fees are fully refundable for 10 days after your booking.
- After 14 days, reservation fees are non-refundable but may be applied to a future workshop event.
- Cancellations less than 120 days prior to workshop incur a cancellation fee of 25% of the total workshop cost.
- Cancellations less than 60 days prior to workshop incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the total workshop cost.
- Cancellations less than 30 days prior to workshop incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total workshop cost.
- No partial refunds will be given for unused portions of a workshop.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to protect your investment. Travel Guard or Allianz are good places to start shopping for trip insurance. You can get a free quote online.
Tours Cancelled by Us
La Dolce Vita Workshops reserves the right to cancel any tour for any reason whatsoever, including insufficient signup, logistical problems that may impede a workshop, hotel closures or acts of God.
Please wait to book your flights until the workshop has reached its minimum enrollment. Give us a call anytime to confirm minimum enrollment.
Refund of all fees paid shall release Italy Workshops from any further liability. La Dolce Vita Workshops is not responsible for any expenses incurred by workshop participants in preparing for a cancelled workshop. In the case of insufficient signup to make a workshop feasible, notice and refund will be sent 60 days prior to the workshop.
Liability Release
You will be asked to sign a liability waiver before the tour begins, releasing La Dolce Vita Workshops and any of its agents of liability for injury or loss.
Photo Release
La Dolce Vita Workshops reserves the right to photograph and film its trips in entirety. Participants should be aware that images of them may be used for promotional purposes or joint marketing efforts with third parties, without remuneration.
